Correa, Victor M., of Malden, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2024, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family.
Devoted husband of Rita Correa and loving father of Ana Cristina Correa-Graham and her husband Charles “CJ” Graham, Carla Correa-Berg, Dr. Katia Correa-Chaves and her husband Mark Chaves.
Cherished grandfather of Dr. Kyra Berg and her fiancée Michael Ferruggia, Max Berg and his wife Shannon Berg, Lucas Chaves, and Coral Chaves. He is also survived by his dear nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Victor lived in 3 continents, served in the Portuguese Army braving death and turmoil, and persevered through language and cultural barriers. He was a master at Ju-jitsu, trades, and had a strong work ethic.
Victor had a 28-year career at Tufts University and believed that education was the key to success. He was passionate, strong, and creative.
He donated his time to many worthwhile causes including volunteering at Massachusetts General Hospital and Cambridge Organization of Portuguese-Americans. His community service was recognized by the City of Cambridge when they presented him with their Community Service Medallion of Honor award.
Family meant everything to him. He was devoted to his family and incredibly proud of his daughters. He was a comedian at heart and will be remembered for his positivity and infectious sense of humor. Victor will be dearly missed as he leaves behind a very heartbroken family who will continue to honor his memory.
Visiting hours will take place at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
A funeral mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street in Malden, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 10:00 am. (Please go directly to the church).
