Margarita Martinez Morehead, a mother, a daughter, a grandmother, business owner, caregiver to her community, and a glow that would light up any room tragically died on Monday, May 8, 2023.
Margarita loved helping and caring for others; both those closest to her as well as those she came across in her life’s path. She was conscientious and naturally she started her own cleaning company. Her clients adored and respected her. She became an extension of their families.
Margarita assisted her community by preparing food for the homeless and those less fortunate.
Margarita’s first priority was her family. She was the sole provider for her elderly 91-year-old mother who lives overseas in the Dominican Republic, along with numerous young nieces and nephews, funding their education and schooling. She always put others before herself, and her kindness and love knew no bounds. She cared for her four adult children and grandchildren with love and graceful dignity.
Margarita was born in La Romana, Dominican Republic in 1963. She moved to Cambridge Massachusetts in 1988 to pursue the American Dream and provide for her family. She naturally became a pillar of her community both here and abroad.
Margarita is survived by her mother Maria Rodriguez Martinez, sons, Moises, Thomas, Eric, her daughter Sabrina, her nieces Erica and Yajahira who she embraced as her own children and cared after, her five grandchildren, her sisters Alejandra, Maria-Altagracia, Dulce, Maria,
brothers Julio, Ramon, Manuel, dozens of nieces, nephews.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
