Francesco (Frankie) DeGuglielmo
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Francesco DeGuglielmo who departed this life peacefully on September 19, 2026 at the age of 92.
Francesco was born on October 6, 1933 in Santa Paolina, Avellino, Italy. At just 16 years old, he journeyed to Venezuela to work alongside his father, Pacifico. After working there for several years, they traveled to America to establish a home and a new life for their family. Affectionately known as "Frankie" he worked as a “tin-knocker”/body
shop mechanic before achieving his dream of opening his own shop, Foreign Auto of Dorchester. His loyal and best guard dog, Curley, was by his side every workday.
Frankie lived on Line Street in Somerville.
He lived a full and vibrant life. He loved traveling and took immense pride in his impressive collection of cars. Later in life, he became a "snowbird" splitting his time between Somerville, Massachusetts and Clearwater, Florida. He was a beloved brother, a cherished friend, and a deeply loved family man.
Son of the late Pacifico DeGuglielmo and Giuseppina (Ippolito) DeGuglielmo. Former husband and close friend of Josephine DeGuglielmo. Brother of the late Pellegrino and his wife the late Giovanna, Antonietta Petruzziello and
her late husband Lorenzo, Enrichetta Marotta and her late husband Enrico, Charles DeGuglielmo and his wife Jeanette, Sr. Evelina DeGuglielmo FMM, Rita Paci and husband Andrea.
Francesco is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Sunday,
September 27, 2026 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 325 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on
Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10:00 am.
