Charles M. BairosBairos, Charles M. – Passed away while travelling with his wife and friends in Lahnstein, Germany on August 30, 2016. He was 69 years of age. Charlie was born in São Miguel, Azores, on January 11, 1947. He immigrated to the United States with his parents, João and Maria Bairos, on April 19, 1950. Charlie grew up in Somerville, MA, graduated from Rindge Technical High School in 1964 and received his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. Charlie married his best friend Charlotte 48 years ago on August 24, 1968. They raised their children in Plymouth MA until 1987 and then moved to North Reading MA. Charlie worked for the Polaroid Corporation from 1971 to 2009 in various technical roles. Most recently he was the Manager of Technical Services at TJX.

The beloved husband of Charlotte. Devoted and loving father of Nicole and Matthew. Cherished Grandfather of Alivia, Kylie and Ella. Father in law of Kevin Heck and Audra Bairos. Brother of John deBairos and his wife Carol and Ann Marie Travassos and her husband Luis. Brother in law of Jay Moniz and his wife Marian and Jim Moniz and his wife Lori. Son in law of Joseph Moniz. Charlie also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Charlie was a hardworking man with many talents. He was incredibly handy and enjoyed working on projects around the house with his wife and (often reluctant) children. Charlie taught electrical wiring theory at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was the photographer for many family events, including breakfast with Santa at Federal Furnace Elementary school in Plymouth, MA. He became an information technology expert before the “IT Guy” was even invented. His greatest talent may have been his ability let you know exactly what he felt without even saying a word. He is gone too soon and will be sorely missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, on Monday, September 12th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and the Memorial Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Cambridge on Tuesday, September 13th at 9:00 am.
