Franklin “Frank” Teixeira of Whitman, MA, died unexpectedly with his wife and best friend, Manuela (Couto) Teixeira, on the morning of April 3rd, 2016, in a tragic car accident. He was 49. Frank emigrated from Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores (Portugal) at the age of 16. He came to the United States to pursue the American dream and to marry his childhood sweetheart, Manuela. They resided in Cambridge for many years and ultimately laid down roots on the South Shore, where they became franchisees of two Dunkin Donuts locations in Rockland, MA. Frank loved his employees and customers tremendously.
Frank was a kind soul and was loved by all. He dedicated himself to living a healthy and happy life. He and his wife often traveled to their Florida vacation home, where they liked to relax and spend quality time together. Family and friends were always welcome. Frank loved chocolate, the beach, the ocean and spending quality time with his son Frankie.
He is survived by his loving son Franklin "Frankie" Teixeira, Jr. Frank was always very proud of the fine young man he raised.
Loving son of the late Maria Eduarda and Franclim Teixeira. Beloved brother of Manuel, Jose (Gaipo), Bertim, Nelia, and his twin brother Luis, all of whom reside in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel. Frank traveled back to Sao Miguel, yearly, to visit his siblings and their families. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, relatives and friends.
Family and friends are kindly invited to share remembrances with the family on Monday, April 11th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at St. Anthony's Church (400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave., Cambridge, MA).
Funeral Mass to honor Frank and Manuela's life on Tuesday, April 12th at St. Anthony's Church in Cambridge, MA at 10:00 a.m.
