Immacula Clerge Jeune
1941 - 2026
Immacula Clerge Jeune passed away peacefully on the evening of June 29, 2026. She was 85 years old.
Immacula was born on June 25, 1941, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and was raised in the Carrefour-Feuilles neighborhood. She was the daughter of Rose Joseph and Geus Clerge and the third of six children: Marie Thérèse Clerge, Euzerbe Clerge, Immacula Clerge, Anna Paulette Clerge, Paula Clerge, and Cherest Clerge.
As a young woman, Immacula was actively involved in her church, where she met the love of her life, Isidore Jeune. They were married on September 9, 1970, beginning a loving partnership that spanned fifty years in marriage and ministry. Together they built a home where faith, love, hospitality, and service were lived each day, raising four children while faithfully serving congregations in Haiti, Massachusetts, and Florida.
In 1981, Immacula immigrated to the United States with her children to reunite with her husband. Together they embraced the opportunities and challenges of building a new life while remaining steadfast in their commitment to God, family, and the communities they served.
Those who knew Immacula will remember her for her quiet strength, gentle spirit, patience, and unwavering love for her family. She possessed a rare ability to bring calm to difficult situations, offering thoughtful counsel, encouragement, and compassion to those around her. Whether among family, friends, or members of her church community, she was a trusted source of wisdom and comfort whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Immacula was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years, Bishop Isidore Jeune; her parents, Rose Joseph and Geus Clerge; and her siblings, Anna Paulette Clerge, Paula Clerge, and Cherest Clerge.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Jode Jeune and his sons, Logan and Ty; Jude Jeune and his children, Amadeo, Evens, Jeremiah, Camille, Jemimah, Jaden, and Keilani; Emmanuelle Jeune and her daughter, Jasmine; and Kathleen Jeune. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Marie Thérèse Clerge and Euzerbe Clerge, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her quiet example of faith, grace, and love.
A celebration of Immacula’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Evangelical Haitian Church of Somerville, 400 High Street, Medford, Massachusetts at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett, Massachusetts 02149.
