Iria Vieira TevesIria Vieira Teves (Garcia) of Somerville, passed away on June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 100. She was born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria Isabel Veira Garcia.

Iria traveled to Lisbon to study Couture and she became a wonderful seamstress. Her talents ranged from making everyday clothing to beautiful wedding dresses. She was a great cook and always made everything from scratch. She also loved gardening and tending to her grapevine. Iria was very devoted to her Catholic faith and a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Church in Cambridge. The only thing she cherished more was the time she spent with her loving family. She will be remembered for her liveliness, singing while cooking, unlimited energy for her family, her faith and bright smile. She will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
