Devoted husband of Joanne (Havranek) Walcott.
Loving father of Dawn Wareham and her husband Harry, Eugene A. Walcott III and his wife Amanda.
Cherished grandfather of Lauren Wareham, Marcus Wareham, Eugene A. Walcott IV, Alanna Walcott and Wes Walcott.
Son of the late Eugene A. Walcott Sr. and Margaret L. (Wallace) Walcott.
Brother of Eugenia Coleman, Tyrone Walcott, and the late Olga Walcott and Margaret Ellies.
Also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral service in the funeral home on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
Eugene was a longtime employee of UPS in Watertown. He was a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame in Cambridge, and the Angelina Basketball Hall of Fame book in Angelina, Texas.
Eugene loved all things music. He enjoyed concerts, listening, dancing and partying to music. Gene spent time playing the keyboard in a band in his younger years. He was also very quick to tell jokes to get people to smile.
