Michael Isidoro, 49, of Somerville, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2023.
Michael was the beloved brother of Rico Isidoro, and cherished uncle of Maverick Isidoro and brother-in-law to Karri Isidoro.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Urania Isidoro, and his sister, Reinalda Isidoro.
Michael enjoyed spending time with extended family members at pool parties and cookouts, holiday gatherings and on vacations, and regular weekend visits. He never met a BBQ he didn’t love, although he always made it clear that he did not want any salad but did want extra ice cream.
Michael was a lover of paint-by-numbers, coloring, coupon clipping and puzzles. He liked things to be perfect, and made sure to trim his artwork, or anything else, until it was just as he wanted it. Michael enjoyed visits to restaurants and stores, where he might surprise other guests with his love of turning on and off the lighting. Though he was nonverbal, Michael had some favorite signs, such as “cookie” and “key,” finding ways to use the latter to access the former.
Michael will be missed not only by his family, but also by the staff and peers at his group home and day program.
Visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
A funeral mass will follow at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge at 11:00 am.
Internment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Rock the Spectrum Foundation (rts-foundation.org), to support people with autism.
