Carlos Moniz of Cambridge passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
He was a cherished son of the late Maria and Horacio Moniz and a devoted brother to Maria Raleza, Anna Andrade, Dora Catatao, Rosa Moreira, Roberta Moniz, Mary Jo Stearns, Suzan Boudreau, Tony Moniz, Horacio Moniz and the late Dereck Moniz.
Carlos was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, including Michelle Russell, Dariane Hanssen, Nicole Catatao, Ashley Catatao, Darcy DeFillipo, Monica Masters, Brittney Malin, Kevin Malin, Kyle Malin, Jaedyn Boudreau, Maddox Boudreau, Teagan Boudreau, Jonathan Stearns, Alex Stearns, Miles Brooks, Paxton Cook, Tristan Cook, Skyler Cook, Dereck Moniz and Priscilla Erickson. He shared a special bond with each of them and brought joy, laughter, and warmth into their lives.
Carlos loved life and lived it with kindness and a deep appreciation for the people around him. He will be remembered for his caring spirit, his sense of humor, his love of music, and the love he gave so freely to family and friends. He also adored his beloved dog, Dexter, who brought him great companionship and joy. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Those wishing to travel in procession to the church are asked to please meet at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10:00 am.
Interment will be private.
