Placdio A. Morias of Somerville passed away on January 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89.
Devoted husband of Armandina Morais.
Loving step-father of Carlos Barbosa and his wife Denise, Marisa Veloso and her husband Jose, and Ricardo Barbosa.
Cherished step-grandfather of Bruno Barbosa, Carolina Costa, Anna Beatriz Mendes, Rafael Veloso, Lucas Barbosa and Luana Barbosa.
Adored step-great-grandfather of Nicholas Mendes, Olivia Mendes, Marco Antonio Costa, Thomas Manuel Costa, and Olivia Costa.
Beloved brother of the late Celeste Pires, Agueda Esteves, Otelinda Pereira, Daniel Morias, Julio Morais, Angelo Morias, Cesarino Morias, and Olinda Paula.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Those wishing to travel in procession to the church and cemetery are asked to please arrive at the funeral home in Cambridge on Thursday morning at 9:00 am.
