Maria Nascimento Faria of Somerville, MA passed away on November 4, 2025, at 90 years old in Cambridge, MA.
Maria was born is Sao Miguel, Portugal on December 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Emilia A. (Cordeiro) and Jose F. Faria and came to the United States with her son and daughter in the early 1970s.
Maria is survived by her son, Arsenio “Sam” Borges of Boston, MA, her daughter, Marie Barrow and her husband Mark Barrow, and her granddaughter Ashley Barrow of Bedford, NH.
Maria had a heart of gold, was immensely loving, loyal, caring, giving, and utterly selfless. She always prioritized everyone’s needs ahead of her own.
She was a wonderful homemaker and the very best cook – she made everything from scratch and always made everyone feel loved. She will be greatly missed by her family and will forever be in our hearts.
