Gertha Derval (Tata, Mamie Gertha) was born in Port au Prince, Haiti, on September 17, 1952. She passed away on August 8, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital at the age of 72.
She was the daughter of Servius Derval and Clairnise Saint Preux. Two children were born to Gertha: Carline Ormeus born Bastien (deceased) and Jean Charles Abelard. She left behind her three beloved grandsons: Paul Junior, Mathew and Mark Ormeus.
She also left behind her husband Ludovic Noel and her sister Precieuse Dorestan and four nephews and five nieces.
She loved to cook and adored Haitian music. She was a friendly person.
Visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Friday August 22, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
Another visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Camridgeport Baptist Church, 459 Putnam Avenue in Cambridge.
A going home service will be follow in the church at 10:00 am.
Interment will be at the Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue in Cambridge at 12:30 pm.
