Judy Quimby WebsiteJudith “Judy” A. Quimby of Arlington passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 88.

Devoted daughter of the late Elsie (Blair) and Frederick Quimby.

Loving sister of the late Ruth Cummiskey and Loretta Quimby.

Beloved aunt of Steven Cummiskey and his wife Laurie, Marjorie (Cummiskey) Kipp and her husband Jerry and the late James Cummiskey.

Dear great-aunt of Joshua and Jeffrey Cummiskey, Hugo and Jonathan Kipp, Jessica Reid, Samantha Chisholm, and Cody Cummiskey.

Judith is also survived by her dear friends Sharon and Bill Ware, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Born in Cambridge, Judy spent her childhood in Cambridge and then moved to Arlington where she spent many years involved in politics. She worked at the Elections Polls in Arlington for many years and was a longtime town meeting member.

She went to work at an early age at MIT, receiving many awards for her service and remained there for over 40 years until she retired.

Her other passion was her dedication to her religion, Judy was a dedicated member at Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington where she served as Church Collector. After serving many years at Trinity, she then joined First Baptist Church of Arlington where she also served as an Usher and Church Clerk. Judy remained a member of First Baptist Church of Arlington until God called her home.

Judy also served on the board in her apartment building complex, she loved people and enjoyed helping when she could. Her favorite thing was taking walks and pushing her car Karin who she loved around in a stroller.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 12, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 819 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service in the Church.

Interment for Judith will take place on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 70 Medford Street, in Arlington at 11:00 am.

Those wishing to attend are asked to gather inside the main gate of the cemetery at 10:45 AM.
