Emilia M. Sousa (Paiva) of Somerville passed away on July 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92.
Devoted wife of the late Jose Chaves Sousa.
Loving mother of Maria Figueiredo and her husband Joe, Joe Sousa, Aida Sousa Braga and her husband Manuel, and the late Antonio Sousa who is survived by his wife Julie.
Cherished grandmother of Natalie Braga and her husband Fernando, Maria Sousa, Stephanie Sousa-Andrade and her husband Nelson, Steven Figueiredo and his wife Michelle, Jessica Silva and her husband Josh, Christina Sousa, Joseph C. Sousa, Angelina Sousa, and Cristina Braga.
Also survived by her adored 10 great-grandchildren, sister Ines Bairos, brother Antonio Paiva, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral mass to follow at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge at 11:00 am.
Visiting hours at the funeral home in Cambridge on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm.
Interment will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
