Matilda (Taddeo) Spinetti, age 89, of Cambridge passed away on February 7, 2025.
Matilda was born on February 27, 1935 to Alfonso and Anita (Nigro) Taddeo in Tufo, Italy and was one of eight children.
Matilda was a loving wife and mother and was predeceased by her husband, Edward Spinetti, and by her children, her daughter Mary (Spinetti) Joyce of Randolph and her son, Salvatore Spinetti of Cambridge. She was "Nanny" to her two grandchildren, Samantha Spinetti of Acton and Sarah Spinetti of Quincy, as well as her four great grandchildren, Terrentz, Patrick, Leyni, and Tobias. She leaves them, along with her brother Anthony Taddeo of Chelmsford, her sister Ida Vononi of Avellino, Italy, and loving nieces and nephews behind.
Matilda was strong-willed and a hard worker. She worked for many years at the Necco Candy Factory in Cambridge. Her kindness, infectious laugh, and desire to cook for and feed others will always be remembered fondly by her loved ones. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on February 12, 2025 at Sacred Heart Parish, 49 Sixth Street in Cambridge, MA and interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA.
