John J. McGovern Sr. of Somerville passed away on January 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 91.
Devoted husband of the late Mary Teresa (Perry) McGovern.
Loving father of Joyce Devereaux and her late husband Robert Devereaux, John J. McGovern Jr., Cynthia Margaris-Kelley, Tina Margaris-Kelley and her husband Sean Kelley, and the late Susan Brandt who is survived by her husband Gerald Brandt Sr.
Cherished grandfather of Gerald Brandt Jr., Laura Mansfield, Melissa Silva-Bard, Crystal Brandt, Joseph Brandt, Kelsey Kelley, Garret Kelley, Liam Kelley, Kylie Kelley, and Lilly Kelley.
Adored great-grandfather of Jonathan, Julia, David Jr., Parker John, Riley Jean, Madison, Joshua Jr., Emma, and Ava.
Beloved great-great-grandfather of Zayden, Joseph, Caleb, Khaleesi, and Penelope.
Also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
