daSilva, Joaquim Inacio, of Malden, March 25, 2023, at age 90.
Devoted husband of Geraldina (Lacerda) daSilva.
Loving father of John Silva and his wife Muriel, Carol Leblanc and her husband Keith, Doreen Browne and her husband Sean.
Cherished grandfather of Helena Petras, Keith Leblanc Jr., Samantha Browne and Victoria Browne.
Adored great-grand father of Mason Nunemaker.
Beloved brother of the late Maria Lacerda, Filomena Avila and Manuel daSilva.
Joaquim immigrated to the U.S in the Winter of 1959 with his wife and 5 year old son to start a new life after a volcano erupted that caused many to flee the island. He came with thirty dollars in his pocket that he borrowed for the cab ride from the airport.
He worked hard day and night to provide for his family as a longtime auto body specialist at East Cambridge Autobody. However, he was always available to lend a hand to anyone that needed help because he could build or fix anything.
Joaquim enjoyed spending time with his family, taking weekend trips to Cape Cod and New Hampshire, and family reunions at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester.
