Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Luis was a devoted family man to his wife, Lucy of 39 years, his two children and adored his three grandchildren. He would do anything and everything for his family. He consistently brought smiles and laughter when he entered a room. His presence was always known with his larger-than-life personality and even louder voice. Luis would look forward to family gatherings and spending quality time with his sisters- and brothers-in-law along with his nieces and nephews.

Luis took great pride in his island of São Miguel, Açores and enjoyed showing videos and talking about where he’s originally from. If he could have, he would’ve visited every year because he loved it so much. He had a passion for Portuguese food and wine that he loved sharing with everyone especially when he made his homemade wine.

Luis loved sports, especially soccer and was a longtime fan of the Sportinguistas; his blood ran green for his team. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing when he wasn’t busy fixing something or coming up with new projects to do in the backyard.

Luis was a man full of life and love who will be greatly missed. He will forever be in our hearts and memories.

My dear friend Lucy I am very sorry for the loss of your life long love, husband and your best friend. He was much too young to leave this world and his loving family. May God give you strength and may he rest in peace.

It was both an honor and a pleasure for my family to have known Luis. He was truly an asset not only to his family, but to the neighborhood of East Cambridge as well. He will forever be remembered by my parents and I for not only monitoring his children when they were playing in the neighborhood, but for my brother and I as well. My family and I feel that he is still looking down upon all of us. May he truly Rest In Peace beside our Risen Lord. Amen.
