Vasconcelos, Lidia Maria (Chaves), of Saugus, January 29, 2021 at age 53, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Devoted wife of Paul Vasconcelos.  Loving mother of Kyle and Kayla Vasconcelos.  Adored sister of Joe Chaves and his wife Lurdes, Maria Rebelo and her husband Jose, Adelina Medeiros and her late husband Filomeno, Fatima Mota and her husband John, Tony Chaves and his wife Nancy, Manny Chaves and his wife Jen, Elizabeth Cargill and her husband Chris.  Beloved sister-in-law William Vasconcelos and his wife Maria, Arthur Vasconcelos and his late wife Connie, Peter Vasconcelos and his significant other Carolyn Mahoney.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Lidia was employed for over 20 Years at M.I.T. and was an Area Supervisor in the Division of Comparative Medicine.

Visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., in Cambridge on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. 

Due to Covid-19 and Massachusetts Tracing Guidelines, the funeral home is limited to 20 people inside the funeral home.  A mask must be worn, over both the nose and mouth, at all times, and social distancing guidelines must be observed.  

The funeral home and the family are asking those who plan to attend to please come in, pay your condolences and then exit to make it possible for others to do the same.  

Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, in Cambridge on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10:00 am. 

Everyone attending church must be registered.  You may register at the funeral home on Friday during the visitation.

Due to Covid-19, Massachusetts Tracing Guidelines and the Guidelines of the Archdiocese of Boston, seating is limited to 95 people in the church.     Social distancing must be observed, and a mask must be worn at all times.    No one is permitted to enter the church until the funeral home personnel arrive.

Internment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
