John da Silva Raposo of Somerville, July 8, 2020 at age 74. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores on July 5, 1946 the son of the late Jose Raposo and Guilhermina (da Silva) Raposa.
He was the devoted husband of Lucia (Almeida) Raposo for 41 years, the loving father of John and his wife Jenny, cherished grandfather of John and Julie, loved brother of Maria Barbosa and her late husband Gilberto, Jose Raposo and his wife Patricia, Manuel Raposo and his wife Priscilla, Michael Raposa and his wife Nancy, and Maria Raposo. He was the beloved brother-in-law of Lourdes Tavares and her husband John, Liberal Almeida and his wife Connie and Zulmira Almeida. Dear uncle, cousin and friend to so many.
Visitation at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge on Saturday July 11, 2020 from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Funeral Mass to follow at the St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, in Cambridge.
John loved spending time with family and friends, (Especially his grandchildren). Anyone who spent time with him immediately knew what a giving and loving person he was. He will dearly be missed not only by his family, but the others whose lives he touched.

Due to Covid - 19, Massachusetts Tracing Guidelines and the Guidelines of the Archdiocese of Boston, seating is limited to 95 people in church. For this reason, anyone wishing to attend the funeral mass, must call Rogers Funeral Home at 617-876-8964 between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:00 pm prior to the service to register. (No one will be allowed to enter the church before the Rogers Funeral Home staff arrives.)
