Douglas Turner Capra of Cambridge, Massachusetts, a lovely man and tender-hearted friend, died January 19, 2011. Born on June 11, 1949 in Manhasset, New York to Elizabeth Turner and Chilean émigré Arnaldo Capra, he graduated from U. Mass Amherst and made Cambridge his home. An exceptionally curious man, Doug succeeded at many jobs. His most recent position was as an analyst for Omgeo, a subsidiary of Thomson Reuters, yet his true passions lay in music, art, technology and literature. His most endearing quality was making friends who adored him. Doug had a broad laugh, gentle eyes, and lived his life as a thoughtful, kind, loyal and generous human being. We will miss his intellect and his spirit. He leaves his mother Elizabeth Turner Janson, sister Manuella Carrasco, brother James Capra, nephew James Capra, niece Nikki Capra, nephew Ivan Carrasco as well as a very close extended family of friends. Donations may be made to WGBH Radio in Doug's name.
A memorial service will be held on Sat., Jan. 29th at 10:00am in the Bigelow Chapel at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
