Raymond A. Acevedo, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, passed away on April 8, 2025. He was the devoted son of Maritza Acevedo and the late Ramon Acevedo, beloved father to Jennie Marie Acevedo, Jessica (Jessy) DeJesus Acevedo, Raymond Antonio Acevedo II, and his step-children Janiot Bonilla, and Daina Janille Bonilla.
Raymond was a cherished grandfather to Anthony Acevedo and Tori Mari Tabor, and a loving brother to Myriam Negrón and her husband Angel Negrón, Maritza Gallagher and her husband Paul Gallagher, and Giovanni Acevedo.
He is also survived by his adored nieces and nephew: Aracelis (Germany) Fontenot and her husband Christopher Fontenot, Marco Negrón and his wife Arianna Loaiza, Sabrina Acevedo, and Briana Gallagher; as well as his treasured great-nieces and great-nephew: Isabela Fontenot, Nathaniel Fontenot, Alessia Negrón, and Alina Negrón.
Raymond was a remarkable man—an extraordinary father, mentor, and friend. His legacy is one of love, family, compassion, and a deep-rooted commitment to uplifting others. Known and respected throughout the Cambridge and Boston communities, Raymond will be remembered not only for his entrepreneurial spirit and for his business acumen in real estate development, but also for his generosity, mentorship, and the countless lives he touched with his unwavering kindness and vision.
He lived with purpose and led by example, offering quiet acts of selflessness each day. Those who knew him will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Raymond A. Acevedo was truly one of a kind—his presence irreplaceable, his impact enduring.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Raymond’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at St. Mary’s Church, located at 134 Norfolk Street in Cambridge, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Raymond will be laid to rest at Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue, Cambridge, MA.
