Cerveira, Manuel on, February 9th, 2013 at age 80 died at his daughter’s home in West Roxbury surrounded by his loving family after a long and painful illness.  He was born in Ribamondego, Portugal to Albertina Andrade Cerveira and Antonio Cerveira.  His brother, Cesar and sister in law Maria Helena Cerveira reside in Ribamondego, Portugal.  He is survived by his former wife, Arminda Cerveira and his four children, George and his wife Anne Cerveira of Richmond, MA, Attorney Albertina Cerveira-Hajjar and her husband Michel Hajjar of Boston, Lynda and John Bianchi of Cheshire, MA, and Jack Cerveira of Jamaica Plain, MA.  He is survived by six grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife Theresa Cerveira, Emily Cerveira, Eliza Cerveira, Nora Hajjar, Mark Hajjar and Julia Bianchi.  His loving niece Maria Margarida Lopes and her husband Jack and nephews Tony and Jack Cerveira and many friends mourn his loss.  He was preceded in death by his son, Adelino (Danny) Cerveira and his grandson Peter Bianchi. Mr. Cerveira emigrated from Portugal in 1957.  He and his wife raised their five children in Pittsfield, MA.  He owned Cerveira Tailor Shop on Eagle Street and Richmond Bakery in Pittsfield.  He helped many of his cousins and his brother to settle in America.  They had all been trained to be tailors in the family business in Portugal.  The family wishes to thank his treatment team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the hospice team at Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Newton, MA.  A wake will be held on Thursday, February 14th, 2013 at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA from 4 to 8 pm. Family and friends are kindly invited.  He will be buried in the family tomb in Portugal.  In lieu of flowers donations many be made to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry in care of St. Joseph Church, 414 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 or to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2042 Beacon St., Newton, MA 02468. The family is grateful for all the kind expressions of condolence.
