Batista, Angelina Andrade (Chaves) at age 88, of Arlington, August 10th, after a brief illness. Born in Cambridge her family returned to the Azores, Portugal during the depression, where she later married Antonio Batista, returned to Cambridge, and began their life together. She is survived by her two children, Diane Batista of Arlington and Joseph A. Batista and his wife Kathy of Southborough. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Juliana and Jonathan Batista, brother John Chaves and his wife Manuela of New York, her sister Isabel Chaves and her husband Jose Antonio of Cambridge, many adoring nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Angelina was predeceased by her Brother Jose A. Chaves and sister Maria Bairos. Angelina was very proud of her Portuguese Heritage and a very active member of the Holy Ghost Feast in Saugus, MA, President of AARC of Arlington, and an active member of the PACL of Somerville. She enjoyed spending her summer months in Fairhaven, MA and truly was inspired by three passions – Faith, Family and Always trying to find occasions to have a “party”! A celebration of Angelina’s life and calling hours will be held on Monday August 13th, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge. A funeral mass will be held on August 14th, at the St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave., Cambridge at 9 am.
