Raposo, Mariano A., 69, of Tewksbury, formerly of Cambridge, passed away June 29, 2012 with his family by his side. Devoted husband of Guiomar Tavares Raposo. Loving Father of Susan Palermo and her husband Victor, Sandra and Janice Raposo, Tony Raposo and his wife Becky. Adored grandfather of Jasmyn, Tristan, Ella, Apollo, Mila and a grandson expected very soon. Dear brother of Maria Pontes and her husband Jose, Silvina Estrela and her husband Manuel, Elvira Raposo, and Eduarda Barbosa and her husband Mario Jorge. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Born in Vila de Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Acores and immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled in Cambridge. Like his late father, he had a love for
classical music and was a distinguished clarinet player. He was a
musician for Banda Lira do Norte as well as Filarmonica de Santo Antonio where he was a director and member. A passionate soccer enthusiast, Mariano played for "os vermelhos" and was a lifelong fan of Sporting Clube de Portugal. The most important thing in his life was his loving close family. He will forever be in our hearts and memories.
