On July 4, 2026, we lost an extraordinary soul, Xavier, at the age of 32.
Xavier was a dedicated fiancé, father, brother, son, and friend whose impact on our community ran incredibly deep. He was a proud employee who worked for the City of Cambridge, where he brought his hard work, dedication, and bright spirit to serve the community he grew up in every day.
To know Xavier was to know someone who truly valued connection and loyalty. He leaves behind a tight-knit circle of long-term friends who loved him dearly, friends who share a deep history with him, who walked through life by his side, and who will forever cherish the laughter and joy he brought into their lives.
More than anything, Xavier’s heart belonged to his family. Though his passing leaves behind a pain that we must now learn to navigate, his love remains within us forever. He leaves behind his loving fiancé, Demetris Grimsley, with whom he was building a beautiful life, and his greatest joy and proudest legacy: his beloved 5-year-old son, who will grow up knowing just how deeply his father loved him.
His passing leaves a massive void, but it has also united everyone who loved him in a shared mission to ensure his name, his story, and his legacy are never forgotten. We will continue to carry his light forward every single day. #justiceforxavier
He is survived and fiercely loved by his fiancé, Demetris Grimsley, his 5-year-old son, his parents Gladys Angeles & Bernardo Bautista, his sister Victoria Angeles, and an entire community of lifelong friends and advocates.
Family and friends are invited to gather to remember Xavier and support one another on Sunday, June 12, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge.
Visiting hours will also be held on Monday, June 13, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church, 135 Norfolk Street in Cambridge from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A funeral mass will follow in the church at 11:00 am.
Xavier will be laid to rest at the Cambridge Cemetery.
