Elizabeth "Betty" D. Maloney, a long-time resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 29, 2024. Betty is survived by her loving partner of 30 years, Ron Lemieux. She is remembered as a loving mother to Deborah Drew and her husband Kevin of Andover, Kathleen McGillicuddy and her husband Mark of Quincy, and Ronald and his partner Stephen of Maynard. Betty will be dearly remembered as a cherished Nana and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren Kevin, Laura, James, and Grace.
Devoted sister of Loretta Mitrano of Medford and brother Joseph Carbone of Sarasota, Florida, along with many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan, her parents Laura and Joseph Carbone, and her former husband Ronald Sr. She leaves behind many dear friends and her beloved cat Molly.
Betty loved her family fiercely and enjoyed any time spent at holidays, and family gatherings, supporting her cherished grandchildren in all their many activities and accomplishments.
Betty's tenacity was exemplified by her work ethic. Her dedication was matched only by her commitment to her colleagues and the friendships she nurtured throughout the years.
Most importantly, Betty was a beautiful soul with a kind heart, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
The family is deeply appreciative of the exceptional support Betty received from the caring team at Care Dimensions Hospice. Their unwavering dedication brought comfort and solace during a difficult time.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours on Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA.
Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Sacred Heart Church, 39 Sixth Street, Cambridge, MA.
Interment will follow at Old Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale.
