Son of the late Louis and Hilda Gomes, and is survived by his son Jim D. Gomes and Mark W. Murphy.

A native of Cambridge and 1957 graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School, Ron completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1961.
