Joseph CanhaJoseph V. Canha “Joe”, of Lexington, passed away at home on November 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at age 86.

Devoted husband of 60 years to Wilhermina Canha (Cabral).

Loving father of Jeffrey Canha and his wife Margaret, Gary Canha, Joseph Canha Jr. and his wife Alina.

Cherished grandfather of Lisa Canha, Nicholas Carpenter, Noelle Canha, Jade Canha, Kaitlin Canha, Lauren Canha, Ryan Canha and Adam Canha.

Beloved brother of Alice Sousa, Americo Ferreira, Adele Dimitri, Louis Ferreira, Abel Ferreira, and the late Mary Cabral and Martin Ferreira.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  

Funeral from the funeral home in Cambridge on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 9:00 am.

Funeral mass to follow at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge at 10:00 am.

Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Winchester.

Born on the beautiful island of Maderia, Portugal, Joseph came to the United States in 1957 after spending 3 years in Caracas, Venezuela. He was a longtime member of the Holy Ghost Society and the Portuguese American Civic League “P.A.C.L.” of Lowell, and a former member of the Portuguese American Recreational Club of Woburn.
