Francis (Frank) Sico, 86, of Carver MA, formerly of Hanover, and East Cambridge, MA, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family and his favorite music.

Frank attended Putnum School, Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School as a child and was a faithful parishioner at St. Francis Church of Cambridge. As a young man, Frank worked in construction. This was unfortunately short term as he suffered a fall from scaffolding where he almost lost his life. He had a passion for trucks, driving them for the majority of his life as something he inherited from his Pa who founded Sico's Express, a moving and furniture refinishing company. Frank worked and ran Sico's Express with his siblings for many years as a successful business. Some nephews are still working with trucking and furniture. Many years later his career driving trucks delivering packages to other states came to an end after Frank was run over by a truck while making a delivery to the airport. His life was spared, surviving the accident and the incidental finding of an aneurysm.

As you can tell, Frank had as many lives as a cat. One had to wonder if his obsession with tigers and lions was more of an homage to his spirit animal. Frank suffered from nearly total loss of vision and hearing as well as so many other serious health complications through his later years of life. God's grace and mercies saved Frank at least nine times that we know of. Through all his treatments and appointments, God carried Frank through. Frank never once complained as he was a true fighter until the very end.

Anyone who knew Frank knew his love of family, cooking, food and a good celebratory drink, hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, and carpentry. He took great pleasure in his overly organized workshop where you could find him whistling beautifully like the birds he loved to watch and feed. Frank had a way of finding someone else's trash, usually at the swap shop, to turn it into a beautiful treasure from bicycles to furniture as he was a waste-not-want-not kind of guy. Does anyone need a chair?

Frank was known by many names depending on when in his life you knew him from Frankie, Frankie Seatbelts, Uncle Frank, Chairman of the Board, or Guido the Torpedo. However, out of all the titles and names he was ever given, son, brother, cousin, husband, uncle, and friend, his most prized title was "Dad" until the sugar on his Rum Cake: "Papa" and "Big Papa".

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Margaritte (Aufiero) Sico, his sisters Marjorie, Jenny, Delia, Mickey, Theresa, and brothers Pasquale and David as well as two special women in different seasons of his life: Connie Sico, the mother of his daughters, and his beloved Ann Mannetta.

Frank is survived by his two daughters Darlene [and husband Charlie] Hume and Patricia Sico.  Like a son, James McNulty. Five grandchildren: Steven [ and wife Kyle] Wolfe, Melissa [and husband Patrick] Hume-Hennessy, Katelynn [and partner Bryan] Hume, Taylor Sico-McNulty, and Mia Sico-McNulty as well as eight great-grandchildren: Ayden, Noah, Alyssa, Vincent, Charlie, Josephine, Matthew, and Ryder. Frank's youngest brother Joe [wife Joanne] Sico. Frank is also survived by his beloved Ann's two daughters Jeannie [husband Matt] Gunn and their two children and two grandchildren, and Carol [ husband Michael] Decarlo and their two children and six grandchildren. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frank is absent from the body and in the presence of our Lord, or as he would fondly refer to as "The Big Guy", whole and surrounded by the ones he has loved and missed for so long.  Frank's absence will be deeply felt by so many who have known and loved him.  It is now our turn to stand, smile, and give a wave of love as we say goodbye. Until we meet again…xo
