Maria Boanova de Jesus Calado, 78 years old, of Somerville, MA sadly left us on September 3, 2022, following a long illness at home.
She was predeceased by her father, João Teixeira Machado, and her mother, Ana de Jesus Machado.
She is survived by her loving husband, Humberto Calado, daughter, Julie Calado and husband Alex Cabrera, son, George Calado and wife Rachel Calado, and son, Roger Calado and wife Lauren Bell.
She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Derek, Damien, Benjamin, Nicholas, Jonah, Isabella and Joanna, and beloved siblings, Antonio de Lima and wife Angela de Lima, Simão de Lima and wife Maria de Lima, John Teixeira and wife Rosa Teixeira, and Maria Evans. Her many nephews, nieces and their children will miss her.
The wake will be at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street in Cambridge on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
A funeral mass will be held in her honor at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 9:00 am.
Those wishing to travel in procession to church and the cemetery may arrive at the funeral home at 8:00 am.
Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
