David A. Castanheira was born on May 29th 1964 in Cambridge MA, and passed away peacefully in his home on August 4th, 2016 at age 52 in Cambridge. His hometown was Woburn, MA. where he had lived with his family. Later David moved to Cambridge and was the proud owner of the Sunset Cafe in East Cambridge which was started by his late father Fernando. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend to all. David will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He leaves behind his beloved Mother, Leonilde Castanheira of Woburn, Sister Irene Pereira and her husband Carlos, Nephews Christopher and Nathan Pereira, of Wilmington, Cousins Lydia Santos ( Castanheira) of Danvers, Esther Castanheira, and Elaine Doran (Castanheira) both of Lexington. He will be resting beside his recently deceased brother Freddy Castanheira and father Fernando Castanheira in the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn, MA. May God bless him.
Funeral from the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge on Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 8:00 am. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Cambridge at 9:00 am. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday, August 5th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
