Jorge, Jose P. Jr., a longtime resident of Cambridge died peacefully on March 20th, 2016 at the age of 90 with his loving family around him.
He was the devoted husband of Idalina (de Jesus) Jorge, the loving father of Anthony Jorge and his wife Christine, Madalynn Jorge Gallo and her husband David, cherished grandfather of David, Stephen and Graham Jorge, Joshua, Rachel and Olivia Gallo. He was the adored great-grandfather of Lila Grace Gallo and the beloved brother of Fernando Jorge, Teresa Jorge Pessoa and the late Antonio A. Jorge. Jose will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge Street, in Cambridge on Thursday, March 24th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, March 25th, 2016 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at the Cambridge Cemetery.
Mr. Jorge Was a Mason with the Charity Lodge of Cambridge, a former Director of the Portuguese Credit Union, and a Deacon & Trustee at the Portuguese Baptist Church. He was a farmer at heart who would diligently take care of his garden and fig tree. Besides being a die hard Benfica loyalist and fan, Mr. Jorge was a man who lived by the motto of God, Family and Country.
