Pinto, Francisco of Somerville, MA at age 84, passed away peacefully on October 30th at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.  

He is survived by his devoted wife, Irene Santos Pinto, his loving children Helena McFarland and her husband Timothy of Somerville, Paul Pinto and his husband John Casey of Salem, MA, his cherished grandchildren Amanda McFarland of Boston and Cebria McFarland of Somerville, and his beloved sister Natalia Pinto Lorenço and her four children of Aldeia Viçosa, Portugal. He is also survived by his large extended family in both Portugal and the United States. 

Francisco was born in Aldeia Viçosa, Portugal to Antonio and Maria de Jesus Felipe Pinto on January 1, 1937. He married Irene Santos on September 3, 1961, in Aldeia Viçosa, Portugal. He emigrated to the United States via Germany in 1972, where he worked as a machine operator for Wonder Bread and Hostess for 27 years.

The family of Francisco wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the medical staff at Massachusetts General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Mass General Cancer Center, 55 Fruit St, Boston, MA 02114 or at giving.massgeneral.org/donate.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue in Cambridge at 11:00 am.

Cambridge Massachusetts Covid – 19 guidelines, requires everyone attending MUST wear a mask while in the church, and social distancing is recommended whenever possible
