Arruda, Maria da Luz (Matos), of Somerville, January 29, 2021 at age 83.

Devoted wife of the late Martim de Arruda. Loving mother of Martim José Arruda and his wife Isaura, Julieta Barbosa and her husband Manuel, João Arruda and his wife Ana Margarida, Luís Arruda and his wife Ana Paula, Lurdes Garcia and her husband Luís, Maria Goreti Arruda, Eusébio Arruda and his wife Paula, Filomena Arruda-Cride and her husband Olivier, Lucia Arruda and her wife Karen McClelland, Jorge Arruda and his wife Tatsy.  Also survived by 7 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons, her brother António Almeida of São Miguel, Acores, sister-in-law Maria Botelho of Canada, and many other loving relatives and friends.  Maria was pre-deceased by her brothers Eugénio Matos, José and Luís Almeida. 

Visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.  

Due to Covid-19 and Massachusetts Tracing Guidelines, the funeral home is limited to 20 people inside the funeral home.  A mask must be worn, over both the nose and mouth, at all times, and social distancing guidelines must be observed.   

The funeral home and the family are asking those who plan to attend to please come in, pay your condolences and then exit to make it possible for others to do the same.  

Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, Cambridge on Monday February 1, 2021 at 10:00 am.  

Everyone attending church must be registered.  You may register at the funeral home on Sunday during the visitation.

Due to Covid - 19, Massachusetts Tracing Guidelines and the Guidelines of the Archdiocese of Boston, seating is limited to 95 people in the church.     Social distancing must be observed, and a mask must be worn at all times.    No one is permitted to enter the church until the funeral home personnel arrive.
