Abbott, Ethel May (Cummins) of Somerville, January 4, 2021 at age 88.  

Devoted wife of the late Joseph P. Abbott.  Loving mother of Lisa Conley and her husband Kevin, Lawrence Abbott and his wife Mary Beth, Trudie Ward and her husband Kenneth, Ethel Marolda and her husband Gerard.  Cherished grandmother of Michael, Jerrica, Ashley and Joanna Conley, Brian Abbott and his wife Erin, Lauren Abbott, John Ward and his wife Claudia, Roy Ward and his wife Amy, Mark Ward and his wife Tara, Kenneth and Angela Ward, Nicholas Marolda and his wife Lauren, and Rachel Marolda.  Also survived by her 14 adored great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. 

A graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Ben Black at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Riverside Cemetery, 164 Winter Street, in Saugus.

Those wishing to attend are asked to please gather just inside the main gate of the cemetery between 10:30 and 10:45 am. 

Due to Covid – 19 and Massachusetts Guidelines, a mask must be worn while in attendance and social distancing should be observed.

Ethel was the past President of the Lincoln Park P.T.A. and the former  Leader of Girl Scout Troop # 748 of Cambridge. 

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Ethel’s memory to the First United Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box # 398089, Cambridge, MA 02139.
