Van Valkenburg, Jerry Lee, of Somerville, August 23, 2019 at age 81. Devoted husband of 59 years to Dorothy “Dottie” Van Valkenburg (Silva). Loving father of Laura Rosa and her husband Greg, Mark Van Valkenburg, John Van Valkenburg and his wife Iris, Stephen Valkenburg and his wife Larisa. Cherished grandfather of Sarah Rodriguez, Maria Rosa, and Willem Van Valkenburg. Adored great-grandfather of Jvanni Caban. Beloved brother of Ron Van Valkenburg and the late George Van Valkenburg. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Visiting hours at the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., in Cambridge on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Jerry is a US Navy Vietnam Veteran, he worked for many years as a bus driver with the MBTA, and after retiring he went on to work for the City of Cambridge as a driver for Human Services and the Council of Aging. Interment will be private.
