Leo Joseph Mochi Jr., age 61 of Cambridge, MA passed away at home Friday, December 15, 2017 surrounded by his children.  He was born in Cambridge, MA on December 18, 1955 to the late Leo J. and Anna (Scolles) Mochi. He graduated from Cambridge High and Latin in 1973, where he played football. Leo went on to attend Boston University.  Serving as a projectionist at the famed Brattle Theater in Cambridge, he was a member of the former projectionist union. A metallurgist by trade, he was a proud member of USW Local #9309 and St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Cambridge.  Leo married Ruth L. (Fields) in 1984 and together they shared a fairy-tale romance for 28 years until her sad passing in 2012. She described him as her “handsome rock of a husband”, which he was in addition to being a wonderful father.  Boston remained special to Leo; he was an avid fan of the Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox. He also enjoyed a passion for woodworking, cooking, golfing, and of course eating.  Leo was at his best in the garden, perfecting his eggplants and tomatoes.  He was also a talented singer, auditioning in 2013 for “America’s Got Talent”. Leo was also an old movie buff and known for classic movie quotes and impersonations.  Humble and empathetic to everyone, he enjoyed a friendly outgoing nature. Quite likeable, he possessed a heart of gold. He served as a foster parent and loved all children, especially his kids and grandkids.  Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Amee Gray of Los Angeles, CA, Lori (Tony) Fasolino of Columbus, OH, Leo Mochi, III of Delaware, OH; grandchildren: Madylin, Audrey, and Dylan; brother David (Dorene) Mochi; sister Nancy Mochi all of Cambridge, MA; and many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Nicholas. Funeral from the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 at 8:00 am. His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, in Cambridge, at 9:00 am.  Visiting hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
