Gomes, Eugenia Filipe “Jen” of University Park, Florida, formerly of Wayland, MA passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Manalapan, NJ on June 27, 2017 at age 87. She was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence A. Gomes. Jr. Loving mother of Linda Mahoney and her husband Paul, Joyce McSweeney and her husband Terence, Laurie Gomes and her fiance Michael Valentino. Cherished grandmother of Paul, Jennifer, Matthew, Caitlin and Daniel Mahoney, Adam McSweeney and his wife Ivelisse, Cara McSweeney and her fiance Daniel Hansen. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Funeral from the Rogers Funeral Home, 380 Cambridge St., Cambridge on July 6, 2017 at 8:00 am. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave., in Cambridge at 9:00 am. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Eugenia was a Kindergarten teacher at the M.E. Fitzgerald School in North Cambridge for over 23 years. She graduated from Lesley College with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Education, and received her Master’s of Art in Education, and Post-Master’s Certificate from Framingham State University.
